(CHANDLER, ARIZONA) The roar of a 500-horse power engine and the wind whipping by as the speedometer reaches speeds of 180 mph are not exactly associations that come to mind immediately when you hear the word sedan.

But that didn’t stop Porsche from defying the status quo.

On October 17, Porsche will officially release its first ever four-door sedan, the Panamera, and the world’s first luxury supercar sedan. The Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa will be hosting the release throughout the following week, where anyone can get a first look at the car. Throughout the release event, the models also can be seen on the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving track at the resort. The event ends October 24.

The sedan features four-passenger seating, front-engine, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There are only 20,000 models available globally, with 6,000 placed in the U.S. and Canada. The Porsche Panamera Turbo can reach 60 mph in 4 seconds flat and tops out at a mind-blowing 188 mph, all while averaging 18 miles per gallon.

The Car Connection states that “The 2010 Porsche Panamera weds astonishing performance to remarkable interior space.” USA Today calls it a “fierce and sporty sedan.” Maxim Magazine calls it the “four-door fury,” saying that it’s, “the most scorchingest sedan ever.”
